Surely this would be the last week for snow?
Does it snow there in May?
I have seen snow here every month of the year.

It snows there in July and Aug. My goodness.
How much snow would you get in the summer months?

In the upper country it can be from one inch to one foot, but normally only a small amount less than an inch down in the valley. It don't always happen but it does sometimes.
Re: snow (again)
Is it still snowing OT?
We had frost warnings last night. That's kinda odd for us this late in April. Must be global warming.

Yep, still snowing. Not much but enough to make it miserable ( 28 degrees ) and slippery. It is supposed to be nice this time of the year.

Well get out there and walk. Walking in the snow is good for ya. Crisp clean air and a chill to keep you moving. It'll put hair on your chest!

Tulip wrote:OT has snow and here where I am in the middle of the country we have wind. Wind blowing so hard it is blowing the birds backwards.
Suppose to stir up thunderstorms later today.
Well they should just turn around and get a goode tailwind.

Boy that would shoot them all the way to the East Coast. It is really blowing hard. Thank goodness they just trimmed my big Oak tree out front. It looses limbs sometimes in big winds.
To bad it is slippery where you are. Have to be careful don't want to slip and fall.
Hopefully it will be sunny and warmer soon.
We can get some pretty good wind storms here as well. 40-45 mph.

You should try bringing groceries in during a hurricane. Loads of fun there.

Nah, I just need a dog sled in the winter. Actually this is the first time this town wasn't shut down because of the snow. Seen it where no one moves in or out including the airport.
Re: snow (again)
Well here is 8:00 pm. It has been snowing off and on all day again. The temperature jumps up and down from 35 to 41 degrees above zero. And yes it can and does snow here at those temperatures. The ground is warm enough to melt it so there is no accumalation. It is supposed to get down top 21 tonight. I think that there is no spring time this year. We will go stgraight from winter to summer. This is the craziest winter I have ever seen.
I am starting to think that our world is going nuts. the seasons are going crazy, the poles are shifting. What's next.

If I feel a earthquake... then it's time to worry.

Well you don't need to worry about that to much. Here, there is fault line just outside of town that is about 10,000 or so years overdue to let loose with a 7.2 or stronger. As we are the epic center of that possible quake, if it does happen it will totally destroy Jackson. This valley was created by the glaciers during the last ice age and all of these hills here were just pushed up by them. That big of a quake could well collapse them and bury us as well.
So now we have that fault line 10,000 years over due and the park at about 40,000 or so years over due to blow. One could just about say that our days here are kind of numbered. And the number may be getting really small. Who knows???? If it does go while I am here I get a hell of a tombstone don't I? hehehehehehe
And here is a live link to old faithful. If you could see it now you would see fresh snow on the ground.

If both happen at the same time, I imagine I'll even feel that.

Not weird, you just like it cold and you like snow.
Do you ski, ice skate or do any winter sports?
Hey maybe ice fishing?
I love to watch the snow fall and take walks in the snow. So pretty.
Until of course my dogs get out in it. Then my yard is a mess.

No skating and sking for this redneck. I'd love to try ice fishing sometime. I love hunting in the snow. Or just hiking through the woods when it snows. Of course I've never had to deal with anything more than a foot of snow either, so a few feet of it might change my mind. lol
